Seattle’s Department of Transportation just launched a new pilot program to motivate people to bike or scoot their way to transit.

SDOT’s Deputy Press Secretary Mariam Ali said those who use transit can take any bike or scooter share to select transit hubs and save up to $8 on trips, plus discounted trips, free mobile transit tickets, and transit-go reward points to use on future trips.

Ali says the program will last until March 31, 2023 (or until funding runs out) and encourages those interested to read more of the .

Clark County wants a new bridge, but not one with tolls

The program partnership members include King County Metro, Sound Transit, Bytemark, Ford Smart Mobility, and a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.

How to participate:

  1. Sign up for聽, and earn rewards points that can be redeemed for transit tickets or credits from participating bike share and scooter share services.
  2. Download the聽,听,听, or聽 app and take a qualifying trip to select Sound Transit light rail stations, transit hubs, or park and rides.
  3. Automatically get up to $8 off your qualifying trip.

More information on individual deals by providers can be found on the websites of participating transit providers.

You can download the Bird, Lime, LINK by Superpedestrian, or Veo app and create an account to rent bike share or scooter share equipment. If you do not have a smartphone, each company provides聽聽to access bikes and scooters.
