For some fans, Super Bowl game day prep will be just as rigorous as for the players.

That rings true for a man known as the Seahulk. You may have seen bodybuilder Tim Froemke painted bright green, wearing a construction hat at CenturyLink Field.

The Seahulk will be in Arizona for the game and he’s flying his body painter there to meet him. He says he tried to use New York body painters for last year’s Super Bowl, but it just wasn’t the same.

“He’s a bodybuilder. He went to school to learn how to be a personal trainer. He understands the body. He’s one of the best painters in the world,” says Froemke.

The elaborate paint job will probably start sometime around 7 a.m. Sunday.

“I’m sure he wants to do something elaborate this time, so it could be three to five hours,” says Froemke, who’s been having himself painted as the Seahulk for 10 years.

He says it’s the kids who keep him coming back. But with his popularity, it’s sometimes hard to actually get into the stadium.

“I’ve learned I have to put a sweatshirt on and put my head down and just walk if we need to get to the game. Otherwise, they take too many pictures and I’m late to the game.”

Froemke says he and his brother want to be one of the first in line to get in on Sunday.

Fans looking for the Seahulk should keep an eye on the end zone. He has sat in the same area for all three Seahawks Super Bowls.
