Seeing the driver of an SUV speed away from a hit and run irked people to no end.

Seattle cyclist Trip Volpe slammed into the side of the vehicle after it crossed a bike lane on Dexter Avenue and cut him off.

Volpe caught it all on video, which soon went viral. What Volpe didn’t know was the driver did talk to 911.

The mother of the driver called 911 and then had him speak with the dispatcher, .

As it turns out, the 18-year-old driver was delivering pizzas at the time of the crash. He told the dispatcher that went back to the scene 10-20 minutes later, after delivering his pizzas.

The driver asked if the cyclist was OK while he was on the phone with the dispatcher.

As of Tuesday, the driver did not face any charges.

Volpe, who sprained his thumb and scraped up his legs, had the right of way, KING 5 reports.

If the driver stayed at the scene, he would have been cited for failure to yield. However, things for the driver might be worse because he didn’t stay at the scene.
