Seahawks get approval for full capacity at Lumen Field for 2021 season

The Seattle Seahawks have officially received approval for full capacity at Lumen Field to start the 2021 season.

The team made the announced Tuesday morning, after initially getting the OK in mid-May to at least host limited capacity games. The Seahawks’ Sept. 19 home opener in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans will mark the first time fans have been at Lumen Field for football since before the start of the pandemic.
“Can’t wait to see those 12s,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said . “Can’t wait to see the 12s. I know they’re coming, I know somebody is going to be in those stands. Can’t wait to get you out there.”
Both vaccinated and unvaccinated fans will be allowed to attend, but those who have yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccine will still have to wear a mask for as long as state and local public health guidelines remain in place.

The Mariners, Sounders, and Storm have all been hosting a limited number of fans to start their own respective seasons. Both the Mariners and Sounders have also been employing special seating and other perks for those who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The Mariners also announced last week that they will return to full capacity at T-Mobile Park beginning with a “Grand Re-Opening Night” on July 2 for their 7:10 p.m. game against the Texas Rangers. Single-game tickets are currently on sale . Season ticketholders living in Canada will be provided “flexible payment options in the coming weeks” should the U.S./Canada border remain closed by the time the season begins. That said, the team also said that it is “hopeful” the border will reopen before then.
