Seattle Police officers arrested a known car thief Tuesday afternoon after he was tracked down by a King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.
Officers chased the man who was driving what was believed to be a stolen vehicle from the South Park area. They stopped the pursuit because of safety concerns.
The man ditched the car near 10th Avenue and South Donovan Street.
The sheriff’s helicopter led police to the back of a home where the thief was hiding.
The 31-year-old man was booked into King County Jail on investigation of auto theft and an assault warrant.
