A standoff involving Seattle Police and an assault suspect lasted into the early morning hours before officers fired tear gas into a house in the Rainier Valley and made an arrest.

Police say a woman called 911 Thursday afternoon to report she’d been stabbed in the shin by her boyfriend at a home in the .

Officers recognized the name of the boyfriend as a suspect in a shooting earlier in the day outside a restaurant in the 2700 block of Rainier Ave. S. A man reported he’d been shot in the leg by a man who sped away in a car.

Officers responding to the stabbing call spotted their suspect inside the home but he refused to come out.

After several hours, with a search warrant in hand, police used tear gas and noisemakers and then entered the house and pulled the 28-year-old man from a hiding spot in the attic.
