Communications manager Lindsey Heaney isn’t sure why, but she tells that the for Tacoma and Pierce County received more than 650 animals in June alone, and over 170 so far in July.
“So right now we are at maximum capacity for the number of dogs, and cats, and critters that we have here available for adoption,” Heaney said.
The shelter is now looking for people to adopt pets and foster others until their forever homes can be found.
“They bring a lot of love to a home,” Heaney said.
