Activists are planning “Tesla Takedown” protests in Seattle, Lynnwood, Fife and Renton on Saturday, according to the , a site to organize for progressive causes.

“Elon Musk is destroying our democracy, and he’s using the fortune he built at Tesla to do it. We are taking action at Tesla to stop Musk’s illegal coup,” the event’s page states.

The group of activists say it is “tanking Tesla’s stock price to stop Musk,” and, “Stopping Musk will help save lives and protect our democracy.”

The protests are slated to start at 10 a.m. at the University Village Tesla showrooms in Seattle and Renton and at the Tesla Service Center in Fife, and at 12 p.m. at the Tesla store in Lynnwood.

Surge in violence and vandalism against Tesla

“Tesla Takedown is a peaceful protest movement. We oppose violence, vandalism and destruction of property. This protest is a lawful exercise of our First Amendment right to peaceful assembly,” the organizers say.

The Tesla Takedown protests are happening as there’s been a surge of violence targeting Tesla dealerships and vehicles.

Cybertrucks were scorched in the SoDo neighborhood, and tagged with swastikas and the word “Nazi” in Lynnwood. One mother said she was driving in Lynnwood when a man with a mask cut her off, got out of his car, and confronted her for driving a Tesla, referring to it as a “Nazi car.”聽

Across the country, there have been similar incidents, including and mass vandalism.
