Two boats erupt in flames at marina in Gig Harbor

No injuries were reported, after huge flames spread from one boat to a second, on the Gig Harbor waterfront early Saturday morning.
Around 7:00 a.m., someone called 911 and reported fire aboard a boat on the Bujacich Dock off Harborview Drive.
When Gig Harbor Fire crews got to the scene, they found one recreational vessel fully engulfed in flames.

A second vessel close by was also at risk of catching fire.
Both boats were not far away from a series of commercial fishing boats moored at the same dock.

But fire crews got the flames under control before they were able to spread to the fishing boat fleet.
Calls went out to other agencies for help.
The Coast Guard arrived to assist in putting out the fire.
Crews from West Pierce Fire & Rescue also arrived to help.聽 They deployed their fireboat, the Endeavor,” to help extinguish the flames.
One person who lives on the boat that caught fire has been displaced, but fortunately they were no hurt.
Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire.
