Seattle buys more cider over the Fourth of July holiday than any other city in the United States.

No, not the cider that comes in a juice box. The cider that Washington’s vibrant micro-brew scene produces. The state has .

After all, apples are Washington’s top agricultural commodity — accounting for about $2.18 billion in production. The state also produces more apples than anywhere else in the nation.

And to note a patriotic point about cider produced in a state named after the nation’s first president — cider is what the founding fathers drank. So having a pint of cider on the Fourth of July in Washington is perhaps among the most American things a patriot can do.

Seattle cider data

The news comes from the folks over at The smartphone app company crunched some numbers based on data collected from its users. Ibotta is a app that connects users with rebates as they shop. After users purchase products, they scan their receipts and Ibotta makes the rebate connections. It’s those receipts that provided the data indicating cider is so popular in Seattle on the fourth. The company considered receipts from Monday through Sunday around July 4 from 2013-15.

Cider is not the drink Seattle buys the most of, rather more cider is sold in the city around the Fourth of July than anywhere else — no other town is pulling it off the shelves a fast as we do. For those other celebratory libations, Seattle ranks No. 8 for whiskey, and No. 14 for premium beer in the nation.

So what does Seattle purchase the most of over the nation’s holiday? According to Ibotta:

• Premium beer
• Light beer
• Wine
• Vodka
• Cider
