is an indie rock band featuring artist芒鈧減roducer Danger Mouse (billed by his real name, Brian Burton) and James Mercer the lead vocalist and guitarist for the indie rock band The Shins. The project was first announced on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. On December 14 the band released their first email update, in which a binary-coded message stating ‘The High Road is hard to find’ was displayed, offering a link to the band’s web page. On the morning of December 21, the band informed fans in an e-mail message of the release of their debut single “The High Road”, which was made available as a free download on their . The self-titled debut album is due out in the U.S. on March 9, 2010. Here’s an excerpt from RollingStone.com where Danger Mouse and James Mercer explain this …

Maverick musician/studio maven Danger Mouse (a.k.a. Brian Burton) explains this latest effort is no one-off art project like Dark Night of the Soul, his much-hyped joint endeavor with Sparklehorse and film director David Lynch from earlier this year. And while he芒鈧劉s well known for producing the likes of Gorillaz, he claims it芒鈧劉s not a Shins album as produced by Danger Mouse; nor is it a trading-computer-files creation 脙听 la Gnarls Barkley, his acclaimed partnership with Cee-Lo. Nope, both Danger Mouse and Mercer agree that Broken Bells is, in fact, a band. 芒鈧揥e just didn芒鈧劉t get anybody else in it but ourselves,芒鈧 explains Danger Mouse. 芒鈧揥e芒鈧劉d never worked together before, but then we did one song and it was great.芒鈧

New Music: Onuinu – ‘Happy Home’

Dorian Duvall is Onuinu, (on-you-in-you) an electro-pop music maker coming to us from Portland, OR whose pseudonym is one that I’m sure will confuse the masses with it’s exact pronunciation for years to come. It’s a good thing that the music coming form this dude is something worth paying attention to or else it would […]
