If you know what’s good for ya you’ll be hitting up the this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That’s right. Three days! The Block Party has been punching cool kids in the face and drowning their puppies in gutter water with some of the greatest music around for the past 13 years as a two day fest and this year the party has expanded to three days. I absolutely cannot wait!
The first time I attended the Capitol Hill Block Party I ended up getting waaay too drunk off of free booze (that’s right, I had some VIP. what what.) and somehow managed to call my friends to tell them I was on the corner of Pine and KFC and that they needed to come and get me. If you know Seattle then you know that that cross street doesn’t even exist. Ok. This isn’t about me so much as it is about the 3 day Block Party. Moving on…
This year there will be almost no food carts to make room for more bands, more crowds, more booze and more awesomeness. If you’re hungry go to these places… Via Tribunali, Pike St Fish Fry, Quinn芒鈧劉s, Caffe Vita, Big Mario芒鈧劉s New York Pizza & Cocktail lounge, Pettiroso Cafe, Cupcake Royale, Boom Noodle, Bluebird Ice Cream, Unicorn, Oasis Cafe, Ballet, The Shell Station Mini Mart, Elliott Bay Books Cafe, Oddfellows, Rancho Bravos, Molly Moon芒鈧劉s, and there are dozens more places within a couple of blocks.
When I first heard that MGMT and The Dead Weather were going to be at the Block Party I nearly sh*t my pants. The entire line-up is super impressive and I think you should make it a point to see these bands… !!!, Zola Jesus, Shabazz Palaces, Holy F*@#, Yeasayer, Francis and the Lights, Blonde Redhead, Blitzen Trapper, Blood Red Dancers, Blue Scholars and Fresh Espresso to name a few. . And make sure to .
