Decibel Festival 2011: Mux Mool chats with the mixtape
Oct 5, 2011, 6:12 PM
I didn’t make it to the Crocodile in time to catch Mux Mool’s set but I did make it there in time to interview the man. I texted Mux Mool (that’s right, i have his number) letting him know that I was in the vicinity and he got back to me surprisingly quickly telling me to come and find him in the Croc’s smoking section. I saw him standing, chatting with a couple of fans and when I called his name he seemed to recognize me as we had chatted several of months ago after he played a killer set at the Chop Suey. So, that was pretty cool. I suggested we kick it in the side alley to conduct the chat because it was quieter than the front of the Crocodile and off we went. Go here if you want to read an e-mail conversation we had recently.
Listen to our most recent chat below where we discuss Mux Mool’s new record Planet Highschool, his time spent in rehab and how it has affected his music making and we play a rousing game of Name That Tune: TV Theme Song Edition where we end up singing together in perfect harmony.
Oh! I neglected to mention that I hadn’t been into the Crocodile yet that night and the line out front was super long. So, after the chat I asked Mux Mool if he could let me walk into the club with him and bypass the line and he totally did. Super cool.
