This Friday night you need to go to Neumos if you know what’s good for ya. All the cool kids will be there like DJ Terry Radjaw of and , , and of course the headliners, ! Do you remember that cartoon ? You know, the one where all the lions form together to make up one massive force of destruction to take on their enemies? That is how you should think of the show at Neumos this Friday. Of course, minus the taking on the enemies thing because the bands are friendly (and as far as I know have little to no enemies) and will be making you dance all night long.

The extravaganza at Neumos (get tix ) is actually a CD release party for HLAK (if you’re in the know that’s how you abbreviate their name) because they have a brand new record that was just released this week called Dreams Suspend Night and it is so so good. Here’s a bit about the new album…

Breaking down beats seems as natural to HEAD LIKE A KITE芒鈧劉s Dave Einmo as breaking down genre barriers. On HLAK芒鈧劉s new full-length Dreams Suspend Night, blip beats dance around meaty analog synths and mischievous guitars, while HLAK drops the vocal hook bombs. Guests like Boom Bip (Neon Neon), Her Space Holiday, Asya of Smoosh, and members of The Long Winters, Saturday Knights, and Swervedriver fuel the party. And what a party it is.

Check out the video for HLAK’s new single ‘Director’s Cut’ feat. Tilson of Saturday Nights. It’s crackin’!

HLAK are also super excited to team up with Caffe Vita to offer a limited-editon white vinyl version of the new album + HEAD LIKE A KITE reserve coffee. Go to learn more.

Listen to my interview and watch some video of the guys in studio below…

Oizo’s latest project is entitled Wrong Cops (apparently it […]

New Music: Onuinu – ‘Happy Home’

Dorian Duvall is Onuinu, (on-you-in-you) an electro-pop music maker coming to us from Portland, OR whose pseudonym is one that I’m sure will confuse the masses with it’s exact pronunciation for years to come. It’s a good thing that the music coming form this dude is something worth paying attention to or else it would […]

Want to win Sasquatch! Music Fest Tickets?

Sasquatch! Music Fest 2012 is completely sold out. It’s really too bad that you missed out on buying tickets to see Jack White, Beck, St. Vincent, Silversun Pickups, Childish Gambino, Little Dragon, SBTRKT, Feed Me (with Teeth!) and The Physics perform alongside 10 handfuls of so many other really great bands. What a shame. Well, […]
