made their way onto the music scene in 2005 with a demo record called Climbing to New Lows which actually ended up becoming their first full length album. However, Oracular Spectacular, MGMT’s second full length and first major label studio album was the one to propel them to serious superstar status. It’s a great neo-psychedelic, synth-pop record with so many amazing musical gems sprinkled throughout it’s no wonder MGMT have millions of fans around the globe. Oracular Spectacular is in fact so awesome that I’m wondering just how they could even think to produce a follow up album that would be in that same echelon. MGMT have just released ‘Flash Delirium’ a track from their upcoming release called Congratulations due out April 13th. It doesn’t quite have the immediate catchiness of or , both from Oracular Spectacular, but it’s a track that has definately grown on me since having listened to it all day today. I’m interested to hear what the rest of this album will sound like as I’ve read that it’s a slight departure from the MGMT sound many of us are used to.
