bachelorette-bachelorette

Tuesday, March 20th is the one day this year that you need to mark on your calendar. Why, you ask? Oh, you didn’t ask? I swear I heard someone in the back of the room ask me why they should mark Tuesday, March 20th on their calendar. Well, I’m just going to have to tell you anyway even if you don’t care.

Psychedelic electro/pop music maker Bachelorette is playing alongside Magnetic Fields at The Neptune Theatre. There, I said it! I know little to nothing about Magnetic Fields so I can’t speak to how awesome or not awesome they are. I do, however, know a bit about Bachelorette and I can tell you that if you listen to any one of her many musical masterpieces you will swoon and most likely fall into the arms a very attractive, Herculean type man.

Bachelorette is New Zealander Annabel Alpers and she’s been on the scene for years having released several records to great acclaim with her latest being her self-titled and probably last offering under the pseudonym of Bachelorette. Recently, I had the chance to chat with Annabel (who is super sweet by the way) and topics include but are not limited to: Kiwi birds and whether or not they are edible, kiwi fruit, our parents’ names, what happens when you accidentally spill Jagermeister on your computer during a show, why Annabel’s mom had to escape Libya some years ago and Annabel tells a really funny joke about a zoo. Oh! We also chat music, play some tunes from Bachelorette and swoon all over the place.

Listen to the chat here and learn more about the music of Bachelorette .

Oizo’s latest project is entitled Wrong Cops (apparently it […]

New Music: Onuinu – ‘Happy Home’

Dorian Duvall is Onuinu, (on-you-in-you) an electro-pop music maker coming to us from Portland, OR whose pseudonym is one that I’m sure will confuse the masses with it’s exact pronunciation for years to come. It’s a good thing that the music coming form this dude is something worth paying attention to or else it would […]

Sasquatch! Music Fest 2012 is completely sold out. It’s really too bad that you missed out on buying tickets to see Jack White, Beck, St. Vincent, Silversun Pickups, Childish Gambino, Little Dragon, SBTRKT, Feed Me (with Teeth!) and The Physics perform alongside 10 handfuls of so many other really great bands. What a shame. Well, […]
