DJ Cam is another in a long line of amazing DJ’s/producers coming out of France that I am completely digging on right now. I can’t remember exactly which song it was that I listened to first from DJ Cam but I do know is that it was either ‘Summer in Paris’ feat. Anggun or ‘Swim’ feat. Chris James of Stateless and that upon first listen, both of these songs ignited a swell of emotion inside of my body that was strangely unfamiliar to me and yet at the same time it seemed as if my heart knew exactly from the sentiments flowing through my insides. DJ CAM has been on the scene for quite sometime having released six albums, he’s helmed a number of side projects and he’s given countless performances all around the world. Kind of a big deal, huh?

Well, this Thursday November 10th DJ Cam will be playing the Chop Suey and I really think you need to get to this show if you know what’s good for ya. He’s promoting his new record called Seven which is ‘…an album whose enveloping, melancholic tone and wide-open soundscapes are supposed to help make your mind wander.’ It’s also the album where you can find the song ‘Swim’ feat Chris James.

Here’s how DJ Cam explains his new record, Seven

芒鈧揂fter the acoustic album Soulshine and various projects with high-profile collaborations and large groups, I wanted to get back to the essentials of being a producer: going into the studio alone, having total freedom, and allowing my inspiration free reign. SEVEN has turned out to be so intimate because I approached it in the same way as my earliest tracks; with experimentation and pleasure as the prime motivation.芒鈧

New Music: Onuinu – ‘Happy Home’

Dorian Duvall is Onuinu, (on-you-in-you) an electro-pop music maker coming to us from Portland, OR whose pseudonym is one that I’m sure will confuse the masses with it’s exact pronunciation for years to come. It’s a good thing that the music coming form this dude is something worth paying attention to or else it would […]
