My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the latest and absolute greatest from Kanye West has been in my possession for about 1 week now and I haven’t been able to listen to anything else. This album completely lives up to . The journey through Kanye’s brain and into his psyche is, as the title of the record would suggest, beautiful, dark and twisted. West along with a grand cast of characters (Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Pusha T, Rick Ross, RZA, Bon Iver, Kid Cudi…) sings about love, sex, religion, drugs, being more awesome than you, domestic violence, more sex, more religion and the list can go on. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is absolutely bursting at the seams with the best beats, verses/choruses and jaw dropping crazy honesty.
I purchased the physical CD because I felt that this album was one that I needed to be able to hold and look at and explore. Yes, I was definately standing in line with the hype and I have no regrets. Another reason for wanting the physical CD was that I was hoping to get hold of the uncensored cover version. I knew iTunes wasn’t going to rock that version and I wasn’t interested in the digital album anyhow. So, I hit up Easy Street Records because I figured that they’re hip and cool and would of course carry version of the record. I was saddened to see that they were carrying instead.
Breaking news! Well, that totally worked. Oh well. Censorship still blows.
