Once upon a time, there was a man named Cecil Frena. Cecil Frena was super talented at making electro pop music that wasn’t quite your run of the mill simple to digest sort of electro pop music. The music was jittery, it was chopped up, it made for good dancey times and it sounded like something that could have been created in a utopian future that wouldn’t exist for centuries. Cecil wasn’t exactly sure what to do with all of this music he had created. He was tired of sitting around his shoebox studio apartment listening to his songs all alone and not being able to share them, so he decided to form a band called Gobble Gobble. People were very interested in this band called Gobble Gobble and so Gobble Gobble kept on making blissed out electro pop for everyone. Yay! Well, after some time had passed Cecil started itching. He started itching to change the name of his band. Now, Cecil wasn’t exactly sure what to do regarding the name change of the band. Should he rename the band? Should he not rename the band? Would people get really confused? After sitting, thinking and pondering for 2 weeks he made a decision. He would change the name of his band. The 2 weeks of sitting, thinking and pondering had paid off as Cecil had come up with the perfect name for the next incarnation of his band and he decided to call it Born Gold. With Born Gold, Cecil is still making the choppy electro pop and ear catching tunes that he brought to everyone with Gobble Gobble and he also managed to bring along his friend Megan James of like-minded avant-pop duo to paint the front cover and back cover art. To this day, nobody knows exactly why Cecil Frena decided to change the name of his band.

All we know is that he is making really good music that you need to hear.

‘Alabaster Bodyworlds’

Born Gold’s debut LP, Bodysongs, is out now via the band’s own imprint Hovercraft, as well as . Visit their page to listen to more tunes as well.

New Music: Onuinu – ‘Happy Home’

Dorian Duvall is Onuinu, (on-you-in-you) an electro-pop music maker coming to us from Portland, OR whose pseudonym is one that I’m sure will confuse the masses with it’s exact pronunciation for years to come. It’s a good thing that the music coming form this dude is something worth paying attention to or else it would […]
