Formed in 1995, Jazzanova is a German Berlin-based DJ/producer collective consisting of Alexander Barck, Claas Brieler, Jurgen von Knoblauch, Roskow Kretschmann, Stefan Leisering, and Axel Reinemer. Over the years these guys have been super duper busy what with releasing a couple of full lengths, they’ve been involved with various compilations and have also gained recognition as innovative remixers for a vast number of acts such as Marschmellows, Ian Pooley, Incognito, 4Hero, M.J. Cole and Masters At Work, to name but a few. The latest offering from Jazzanova is Upside Down, a remix collection which includes all of the remixes ever made for and by these guys over the last eight years. And to really make this thing special, Jazzanova were able to call in some favors and gather some of the most important names in dance music today that have been tearing up dancefloors, namely Ye:Solar and Ame to Atjazz and Mr. Scruff from the UK, Motor City Drum Ensemble from Cologne, Glasgow’s Midnight Mauraders and Soldiers of House. The entire production is a slick and impressive piece of work and the mixes will have you dancing around your living room in no time.
