New Stereo Mcs – Emperor’s Nightingale

are an English electronic dance group that formed in 1985 and are probably best known around the world for their super catchy single, . I absolutely loved that song back in the day. I purchased the album hoping that every song would be as great as ‘Connected’ and I remember being slightly disappointed with the record as a whole.
Well, vocalist Rob Birch and DJ/producer Nick Hallam are back to making music and will be giving the world their latest full length, Emperor’s Nightingale this August 30th. When I first saw that I had a new record from Stereo Mcs waiting for me in my mailbox, I wasn’t exactly stoked. My first thought was ‘Wow. Stereo Mcs, huh? They’re still around? Ok.’ But, after giving the CD a few spins I came to realize that I really dig this thing. Unlike the Stereo Mcs Connected album, which fell flat for me almost 20 years ago, (damn. 20 years? really?) Emperor’s Nightingale boasts big bass heavy cuts at times (which i love) and the entire record is full of really great grooves that will have you up and dancing in no time.
Watch the video for ‘Boy’ feat. Jamie Cullum, the first single from the record and to watch the 2nd installment in the video series.
