Oh My BLOG! What happened to Friday February 19th’s mixtape!?

This blog and my mixtape podcasts are usually all music all the time with some real life stories and digressions sprinkled throughout. Well, last Friday I posted a mixtape in which I bared my soul. I told you about that one thing that was really hard to talk about relating to that other really personal thing and how I was needing some help with some really specific areas in my life. It was crazy honest.
Some of you were lucky(?) enough to get to experience exactly what I am cryptically referencing to above while others were privy to only a part of the entire mix before it had been pulled! Since having pulled the episode late Sunday afternoon I’ve received lots of comments and emails regarding the content of Friday’s mixtape. Here’s a sampling…
‘Listened to The Mixtape from last Friday…I’ll send a few prayers up for you in Church today.’
‘Well, I am certainly not one to give advice….you are probably getting enough of that already from those around you. Also, since you took the last mixtape down, I am wondering if you are regretting or getting flack about it.’
‘The latest Mixtape from Friday has been pulled…Did you decided to kill it?…I was only half way through it so I’m DYING to listen to the rest…I was totally feeling you bro.’
‘You have people (who actually know you) who are rootin’ for you, and then these weird people in imaginary radio land (like me) who are right there with you.’
‘I listened to The Mixtape this weekend and I was heartbroken because you sounded like me 3 years ago.’
‘I was totally digging your latest show Sean. It was about as real as things get.’
‘I’m about 4/5 through it here at work…it’s tough to listen to for sure (but not in a bad way).
I pulled the show because I wasn’t sure it should be out there for all to hear. I want the mixtape to reflect my taste in music and the goings on in my life, but I don’t want it to sound pathetic. I debated about whether to leave the mix up or take it down all weekend long as I wasn’t even going to put it up in the first place. I went with my gut in recording the show, revealing everything going on with me, my love affair with booze and special friend Kristina and I went with my gut and finally pulled the show. After all that’s happened I’m happy I did have the show up even if it was for a short time. It was nice to get things off my chest and lots of good has come out of this both for myself and for special friend Kristina.
I want to thank all of you so very much for all of the really nice e-mails, comments and texts I received showing your care, support and concern.
