Friend and fellow podcaster Aaron Mason () was born some several odd years ago and I am so very happy that he was. You see, if his parents hadn’t seen twinkles in each others eyes that night (or day. i’m not sure the sorted details of how and when things actually occurred. things could very well have been unsorted. i don’t know) and Aaron hadn’t been born, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have known about Stop Biting, this awesome weekly dance night at .
Last night I received a text from Aaron shortly after my shift at 成人X站 ended asking if I would be into joining him at Lo-Fi claiming the show would be good and that I would like it. I said sure, hopped in my car and made my way up Eastlake Ave. to see what exactly was in store for me. Turns out that Lo-Fi was hosting an EP release party for local beat makers WD4D and Suttikeeree and their latest offering, After School EP 2. The thing I love about the Lo-fi is that no matter where you turn it feels like you’re in the basement of one of your super cool friends whose parents have left town for the weekend and they just so happen to have a full bar, two dancefloors and the greatest decorum this side of downtown.
The place wasn’t super packed to start and people were getting down to the DJ’s playing before WD4D was to step behind the decks but as soon as he did take the stage, the floor filled up and people were absolutely pumped to be where they were this night at Lo-Fi. I wish I would have known about WD4D and this release party before last night so I could have spread the word in proper fashion. If you get a chance, you must hit up Lo-Fi for Stop Biting. It’s one of the coolest dance nights around.
