The Chemical Brothers: We Are The Night

I’m a little late to join the bandwagon with this one but I just have to let you know about something. I recently purchased We Are The Night, sixth album (i now own just about all of them. yes i have no problem waiting 3 years or more to purchase a used cd of an artist i enjoy) along with Memory Tapes’ latest Player Piano (the show was awesome. look here tomorrow for video) and I was sweetly suprised by both of these records. I’m pretty sure the reason I was hesitant to purchase We Are the Night was because of the song ‘The Salmon Dance’ feat. Fatlip. It’s god-awful. Ok, look. The beat is fine and really catchy and at various points throughout the song Sammy the Salmon gives us a lesson all about the life and habits of salmon but I don’t want to hear Fatlip singing about dancing like a damn salmon. C’mon Chems, you’re better than that.
The record is really great and I’m kind of sad that I didn’t pick it up sooner. It’s got the big beats The Chemical Brothers have become known for over the years and the record is chock full of tracks that will have you dancing in no time.
