It seems to me the past few days of my life has been all Swedish music all the time. First, it was Niki & The Dove and now it’s the fact that Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer aka The Knife, will be releasing a follow up to their 2006 LP Silent Shout. It’s about time guys!
Of course I understand the duo have been really, really busy over the past several years what with helping to put together a massive 90-plus-minute longform work about the life of Charles Darwin along with Planningtorock and Mt. Sims and yes, I know Karin Dreijer Andersson released a solo work under the moniker (who happens to have a new song, ‘The Wolf’ in the film Red Riding Hood) but I love The Knife and I think they should put out records once a week. , we should get a full on The Knife record in 2012. That’s all we’re getting from them right now about the new record and that’s ok with me. At least it’s something. Whoo!
You should listen to a mixtape I put together which is chock full of music from The Knife. And, while you’re here you might as well watch some of their videos…
