Next weekend, June 11th-13th, the will be coming back to Seattle for the third year in a row and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve loved pinball ever since I was a kid and over the last few years especially I’ve become somewhat addicted to the game. Every Sunday, for months, I would go to and compete in their pinball tournaments. Lots of people were better than I was and I never won anything but it was great to play on all the sweet games. Oh, and to drink cheap beer. I even had my friends gather at Shorty’s for my birthday last year to take part in a tourney of our own.
What’s great about the NW Pinball and Gameroon Show is that with a paid admission you get to play all the pinball and video games you want for free! That’s right, all the games will be set on free play so you can drain your balls all you want and it won’t cost you anything. Well, except the respect of the pinball wizards that I’m sure will be everywhere. They’ll be speakers and seminars including Steve Wiebe and Walter Day from and better yet you’ll have a chance to participate in a pinball tournament to win really awesome prizes! Here’s a little something from the official press release…
The show is the biggest event of this type in the Northwest. In its third year at the Seattle Center, the NW Pinball & Gameroom Show will feature 300 pinball and arcade games, the most ever seen in one place in the entire Pacific Northwest. While seeing and playing games is the highlight of the festivities, the event will also include prizes, tournaments, guest speakers, world record attempts, vendors and a number of celebrities from the pinball and arcade world. Prizes this year include a full-sized Ms. Pacman arcade game, a NBA Fastbreak pinball machine (designed by show speaker George Gomez), and a Congo pinball machine (designed by another speaker, John Trudeau).
I had a chance to chat with Kevin Orme, one of the folks involved with this event and he was nice enough to give me two pair of weekend passes to give away. He actually paid for the passes himself and offered them up. Nice dude. You should visit his and show him some love and then you should listen to the interview below to find out how to win!
