Jimmy Fallon returned “The Tonight Show” to 30 Rockefeller Plaza Monday as the sixth man to take the stage as a full time host.
He was visibly on edge for the first few minutes. But nothing settles the nerves better than your first joke hitting its mark.
The first guest to sit on the couch was Will Smith, who also took part in a bit called “The Evolution of Hip Hop Dancing.” It included a callback to Smith’s “Fresh Prince” era.
But a parade of stars showed up to make an appearance, including Robert DeNiro, Tina Fey, Rudy Giuliani, Mariah Carey, formerly banned comedian Joan Rivers, Mike Tyson, and Stephen Colbert.
Fallon used the whole building for his first show – musical guest U2 performed on the roof of 30 Rock.
