Send banners to surviving students of Florida shooting

A week later, there’s still more to be done to support the surviving students of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

After the shooting, a teacher put out a request on social media for letters. She put the meant just for AP World History teachers.

It read: “I would like to greet them all on the first day back with letters of support… not the email kind or texting kind but real letters handwritten… I want them to hold the envelopes addressed from around the world to see that they are not alone and there are still kind and caring people in this world.”

The message spread outside of that AP World History group and, of course, went viral. Turns out that even though it’s only been a few days since the lives of 17 people were taken in those halls, so many letters have been sent that she’s changing her request.

She would like laminated banners instead, decorated with well-wishes. She says she’ll hang them in the school.
