Shoreline residents rejoice.
Trader Joe’s is reducing the drive residents have to make to shop at the store.
A new branch of the popular grocery chain will open near the end of February, according to a brief statement on the company’s website.
The store will be located at 1201 North 175th St. in the Shoreline Marketplace.

According to the developer, MerloneGeier, it will replace the former Haggen/TOP Food store just off Aurora and half-a-mile from I-5.
The closest Trader Joe’s are on Roosevelt Way NE near University of Washington and Ravenna, and the store in the James Village Shopping Center in Lynnwood.
The Shoreline store is scheduled to open Feb. 26 at 8 a.m. The opening, according to past coverage, is a long-time coming.
In September 2014, reported the store was going to open in 2015. The Southern California-based company announced the Shoreline addition was coming in a news release, according to the Times.
Ditto for other publications. According to the March 2015 edition of the City of Shoreline , Trader Joe’s was slated to be the “anchor tenant this fall.”
The reported crews were installing a sign at the site on Jan. 23, 2015.
