Does Donald Trump have Tiger Blood?

“We have a disaster on our hands. We have a man right now that almost certainly will go down as the worst President in the history of the United States.” – Donald Trump
For political junkies and celebrity watchers, Donald Trump has been a godsend. A full 18 months before the presidential election, Trump fills a void like nobody else. He’s loud, he’s colorful, he’s pointed and blunt. He’s guaranteed good copy.
And the Republican Party – at arm’s length – benefits from having a high-profile guy bashing the President day in and day out – without having to get its own hands dirty.
But nobody really thinks he’s going to run, do they? Politico reports that Trump is indeed laying some serious groundwork. He’s already interviewed two people for a campaign manager position and contacted several high-powered media consultants. Politico’s take? It appears “very likely” that Trump will become a formal candidate!
Neither Politico nor I see him ever winning the Republican nomination, but just having him in the race could be a problem for the GOP, a real thorn in its side.
He’s already mixed it up with Karl Rove, the mastermind behind George W. Bush’s two terms in the White House. This weekend, after Rove called Trump a joke candidate for bringing up the Obama birth certificate issue, Trump shot back that we can thank Rove and Bush for giving us Obama. Even Abe Lincoln couldn’t have beaten Obama with the state the Bush Administration left the country in, he argues.
And now he’s going after Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney, whose claim to fame is that he’s a very successful businesnessman. Not by comparison, shoots back Trump. “I have a much, much bigger net worth. I mean my net worth is many, many times Mitt Romney,” he says. He adds that Romney’s made money by costing people jobs but he’s created thousands of jobs.
What makes Trump potentially dangerous to the Republicans is that he can afford to say things others can’t or won’t … because he’s got nothing to lose.
And speaking of losing, that’s just not the Trump way. Mulling over a possible run as an Independent if his bid for the Republican nomination doesn’t work out, he says he’d only do it if he thought he’d win. “If I can’t win, I’m not doing it for any other reason. Because I like winning.”
Hmm … “Winning.” Why does that sound familiar? Uh-oh, better check him for Tiger Blood.
Could Donald Trump do to the GOP what Charlie Sheen did to Two and a Half Men? Not likely but the Adonis DNA might explain his hair.
