In the past 48 hours, the greater Seattle region has seen it all: multiple attempted carjackings, shootings, and a University of Washington student being tasered near campus.
Add to that list the broad daylight abduction of Rza 鈥 a gentle 9-year-old Rottweiler-looking family pet, who taken from her leashed spot in Capitol Hill鈥檚 Whole Foods parking lot.
The dog theft on Tuesday has owner Hana Hu distraught. Amid all the other crime happening in the region, she told The Dori Monson Show that the inhumanity of someone stealing her senior dog leaves her speechless.
Hu says witnesses and a security video described 鈥渢wo African American males in a newer model gray Honda Accord with a dented passenger-side rear door鈥 tailing her before taking Rza (pronounced Rizza) into the vehicle during Hu鈥檚 three-minute errand in the store. No license plates are visible, she says.
The Dori Monson Show got a tip about the abduction, which seems to capture how wild crime has become.
鈥淚t鈥檚 not just 鈥榮omebody took a dog on Capitol Hill,鈥欌 Dori told listeners. 鈥淚t鈥檚 more than just a property crime.鈥
鈥淚 can鈥檛 even begin to think about what she鈥檚 going through,鈥 Hu said about Rza. 鈥淚t鈥檚 shocking. I鈥檓 at a loss for words.鈥
Seattle police encourage anyone who spots Rza to call them at 206-625-5011.
