Dori says farewell to Olivia Newton-John, dead at 73 after battle with cancer: ‘She was a fighter’

Olivia Newton-John, a chart-topping pop icon of the 1970s and 1980s and co-star of “Grease,” passed away Monday at her ranch in Southern California after a multi-year battle with breast cancer.

Newton-John was a fan of Dori Monson, telling the radio host, “you’re the one I want,” after Dori admitted to a childhood crush on the pop star that persisted into her 2016 appearance on the Dori Monson Show.

“A 30-year battle with cancer … she was really a fighter,” Dori said Monday.

“She became a believer that medicinal marijuana was absolutely crucial to her fight. She has a … breast cancer and medicinal marijuana are two causes that she’s going to fight for even after passing.”
