A former Seattle firefighter acquitted of attacking a homeless man, and in the process of appealing his way back to a job, was unable to make his court date.

Scott Bullene was booked into King County Jail on Monday for allegedly robbing a cab driver of his cellphone after an argument sparked by road rage. Bail was set at $15,000.

“These are the type of people I definitely don’t want in the fire department in Seattle,” ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio’s Ron Upshaw said.

Bullene was one of two firefighters charged with assault and malicious harassment after a March 2014 Sounders game. Bullene along with others, saw a homeless man sleeping on the Seattle Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Occidental Park. They allegedly assaulted the man, according to 2014 news reports.

The charges were eventually acquitted and Bullene and the other firefighter are now attempting to get their jobs back.

“I was torn in the first incident,” Ron said of the former charges against Bullene. “If you knew firefighters who have lost their lives or have been seriously injured… it is disrespectful.”

³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio’s Don O’Neill agreed that anyone violating a memorial is wrong. He’s seen similar things at the memorial in Occidental Park. However, he hasn’t fought anyone over it.

“I didn’t kick a guy,” Don said.
