Governor Inslee’s presidential campaign is in trouble, and he needs our help. What he needs to really get above 1 percent is a catchy campaign song.
Bill Clinton had a fun theme song for his campaign, “Don’t Stop” by Fleetwood Mac. Barack Obama had “City of Blinding Lights” by U2.
I need your help to find Inslee’s hit campaign song. With a good beat and music you can dance to, he’s sure to rise in the polls — and maybe even get to the great goal of 5 percent.

To start off, I came up with a couple of ideas of my own.
“Liar” by Three Dog Night

Remember how he told us he would not raise taxes if he became governor? This song seems to describe that statement.
“Man on the Moon” by R.E.M.

He also is obsessed with comparing climate change to sending a man to the moon.
Listeners’ picks for Inslee’s campaign song
We received an overwhelming amount of suggestions from the listeners. Here is just a sampling of your musical suggestions:
“Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen

This will likely be Jay’s campaign song in a few weeks. Quite a few listeners have sent this one in.
“What a Fool Believes” by the Doobie Brothers

This next one was inspired by the the I referenced on Thursday, where scientists in 1989 were saying that floods caused by global warming would wipe out entire nations by the year 2000. Here we are, 19 years after the year 2000, and 30 years since the prediction, and yet nothing of the sort has happened. Believe it or not, sometimes the scientific consensus is wrong because they’re lying to you.
“Taxman” by the Beatles

This one, of course, is on the nose, but oh-so-fitting.
“Bein’ Green” by Jim Henson as Kermit the Frog in “The Muppets”聽

This song is perfect for a guy whose entire campaign is about being green. Plus, the lyrics completely fit his campaign so far — he can’t figure out a way to stand out from everyone else.
“White Liar” by Miranda Lambert

Back to the lying theme.
“The Joker” by Steve Miller Band

Inslee’s campaign definitely seems to be a joke, and his proclamation that we have the best weed in America seemed to be a message to “midnight tokers.” And since he’s obsessed with comparing himself to JFK in the space race, you could even call him a “space cowboy.”
“If I Only Had a Brain” by Ray Bolger as the Scarecrow in “The Wizard of Oz”

Inslee admitted earlier this week that he only has “half a brain.” Plus, Kansas likely has plenty of opportunities for when you “just want to go swimmin’ at the old swimmin’ hole for goodness’ sakes.”
Theme from “Sanford and Son”聽

Seattle and the surrounding region is certainly starting to resemble a junkyard under Inslee’s watch.
