The IRS spent over $60,000 on a training video made in 2010 to that Dori says is a waste of our tax dollars.

“It’s an elaborate set to look like the Starship Enterprise,” said Dori.

“If it was done by PBS. It still looks really cheap,” said producer Jake.

The video was discovered during a House Ways and Means committee investigation into IRS spending. They discovered the agency spent over $60,000 on the Star Trek video and a Gilligan’s Island spoof training video. According to the report, the bulk of the money was spent on the Star Trek video. Congress deemed the Gilligan’s Island version to be legitimate and did not release it.

The IRS released a statement saying the video “was a well-intentioned, light-hearted introduction to an important conference during a difficult period for the IRS.”

The video seemed incomprehensible to Dori, and he couldn’t figure out what kind of training the employees could glean from it.

“But remember, they’ve cut to the bone and they need to raise our taxes because they don’t have enough money.”
