Governor Jay Inslee’s drought declaration is part of a climate change agenda and raising taxes, ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio’s Dori Monson said.

California may be in bad shape and Eastern Washington might be in trouble, but here in Western Washington we don’t have much to worry about.

Large cities such as Seattle and Tacoma do not have to worry about water, officials say. In fact, Seattle Public Utilities announced customers can use water this summer as normal; there are no plans to increase water rates unless there is a “gigantic” decrease in water usage.

“What’s going to happen if the governor gets so many people to stop using so much water?” Dori asked.

Luckily, Dori said he already has a plan in place to save water, if need be.

“Here’s what I’ve done: Every Sunday night, right after ‘Bonanza,’ I draw a hot bath,” Dori said. “But I don’t drain the tub all week and I use that bath water every day; often twice if I go to the gym.”
