When 成人X站 Radio’s Ron and Don put a call out to raise money for an injured King County sheriff’s sergeant, the goal was high — $100,000.

But Puget Sound listeners exceeded that goal in less than one day. Now, Sgt. Wing Woo is back in Seattle.

Sgt. Woo was transported to Harborview Medical Center late Thursday night. He remains in serious condition.

Gabe Debay with the Shoreline Fire Department was among a crowd of paramedics and other law enforcement officers who will volunteer their time to pick up Woo.

Debay grew up in Federal Way where Sgt. Woo was a mentor to many youth. Debay was one such youngster. Now he works as a paramedic, and is often in contact with Sgt. Woo who patrols Shoreline —聽 King County is contracted to provide law enforcement in Shoreline.

Sgt. Wing Woo was injured while swimming in Hawaii. He was on a family vacation, celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary with his wife and two children. But that trip was cut short after he suffered a spinal injury and spent days in a coma on life support. Woo is awake now, but he needs further treatment — specifically, medical attention that the doctors at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center can provide.
