One British newscaster was when she walked right into a canal as she was texting her boyfriend.

Safe, the host of Britain’s Capital FM Breakfast Show, was looking down at her phone so intently that she didn’t even see the water right in front of her.

“I heard a man called out “stop” to me and I looked up at him, but it was too late by that point,” said Safe during a BBC TV interview. “I tried to get my balance and ended up slipping into the canal. But not before I’d saved my handbag and mobile phone.”

“I brushed myself off and hoped that no one saw,” said Safe. “But I turned around and the whole of Pizza Express at the Mailbox were there and the staff came running out.”
