All lanes are now open after I-5 north was shut down at Southcenter due to a shooting on the freeway, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Friday. However, the backup is about six miles.
CLEARED: The incident on NB I-5 at I-405 in Tukwila has cleared. Continue to expect delays as traffic clears.

A person was hit in the leg from inside their car, according to WSP Trooper Rick Johnson.
“Detectives will determine how this happened,” Johnson wrote on X. “There is no danger to the public or any other suspects or vehicles involved.”
The Washington State Department of Transportation captured the traffic scene on X.
UPDATE: ALL NB I-5 lanes blocked at I-405 in Tukwila.
Seek alternate routes. Emergency responders are on scene.
