A Lake Tapps woman had a close call when she spotted an unfamiliar car in her driveway, the reported.

Lake Tapps woman encounters suspected burglar

She noticed the car around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Moments later, a man appeared on her back patio and allegedly attempted to break into her home. She was on the phone with 911 at the time. The woman was able to lock the man out before he could get inside. He then fled in a car, the sheriff鈥檚 office said.

A short time later, deputies tracked the man down at a nearby park. They arrested the 48-year-old for attempted residential burglary, attempted theft, driving with a suspended license, and failing to have an ignition interlock device in his car.
