Man stabbed to death in downtown Seattle

A man was stabbed to death in downtown Seattle late Wednesday night.

Officers were called to respond to an assault occurring in an alleyway at 5th Avenue and Pike Street at approximately 10:15 p.m. Seattle Fire also responded to provide first aid, but after trying to save the man, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim ended up in the alleyway after running away before collapsing. A fight between two men led to the stabbing, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD). Officers recovered a knife at the scene.

“The man involved in the stabbing cooperated with police and detectives interviewed him at Seattle Police Headquarters,” SPD stated in its .

The investigation is ongoing.
