Man wounded in shooting in Seattle’s Central District

A 24-year-old man was in serious condition after being shot early Saturday morning in Seattle’s Central District, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD).
“At about 2:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting near 24th Avenue East and East Union Street,” according to a post on the . “Officers arrived and located blood and evidence of a shooting.”
The man arrived at Harborview Medical Center via private vehicle, the post said.
“Police determined that while the victim and friends were standing near the street, they were approached by a group of men and a fight broke out,” according to the post. “During the altercation, one of the suspects shot at the group and struck the victim.”
The suspects drove off, and police did not find them.
Detectives are working to determine exactly what led up to the shooting.
