Officers with the Seattle Police Department (SPD) are investigating a shooting that seriously injured a 29-year-old man in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood Thursday morning.
Patrol officers were sent to respond to reports of a shooting outside of a bar at 12:15 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of E. Pike Street. When they arrived, they found a 29-year-old victim with a gunshot wound in the abdomen near Union Street and Boren Avenue.
After initial first aid, the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and transported him to Harborview Medical Center. He’s in serious condition, as of this reporting.
“Police determined that the victim was in a fight disturbance outside the bar with multiple people,” SPD stated. “At some point, the suspect drew a firearm and shot the victim. Officers recovered a shell casing and additional evidence.”
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, and has not been found. SPD is actively searching for the suspect in the shooting as it continues with its investigation.
