A Bremerton resident was found guilty of multiple burglaries and thefts throughout Washington.
Tina Woods mainly targeted post offices in addition to homes and businesses between June and October of 2023. Her burglaries occurred in Jefferson, Kitsap, Clallam, Kitsap, Jefferson, Mason, and Thurston counties. She stole cash, electronics, jewelry, collectibles, cigarettes, and a credit card.
Using security footage and tracking a recovered stolen vehicle found at her home, investigators were able to locate and pursue Woods on criminal charges. Police arrested Woods after finding her hiding in a dresser within her home.
“This outcome reflects our commitment to protecting Jefferson County,” Thurston County prosecutor James Kennedy said. “The teamwork between our deputies, prosecutors, and regional partners was critical in stopping this crime spree. We urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.”
Woods’ husband has been linked to several of the burglary cases, but Tina also committed some on her own.
She was found guilty of 16 counts related to her crime spree, including multiple burglaries, thefts, and property damage.
Woods’ sentencing will be May 23. Her sentence could exceed seven years.
