Rantz: Intellectually bankrupt Patty Murray upset COVID vaccine isn’t pushed on healthy kids /ktth/rantz-opinion/murray-covid-vaccine/4093014 Thu, 29 May 2025 12:01:02 +0000 /?p=4093014 Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), who previously supported COVID vaccine mandates, is now upset that the federal government no longer recommends vaccines for healthy children and pregnant women. She complains that this takes away choice. She did so unironically.

“When it comes to vaccinating pregnant women & children, the benefits greatly outweigh the risks. People should be able to make that choice for themselves,” Murray posted on X. “(Health Secretary) RFK Jr. is making it less likely that insurance will cover this vaccine and less likely that people can have that choice.”

This is political gaslighting at its most transparent; and it’s only being employed because she knows left-wing Seattle media won’t call her out. She positions herself as a defender of personal choice, conveniently ignoring her past advocacy for coercive policies.

Are you old enough to remember when Murray supported vaccine mandates?

During the height of the pandemic, Murray was a vocal supporter of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Emergency Temporary Standard, which mandated COVID vaccinations or regular testing for workers. She criticized efforts to overturn this mandate, that such actions would “throw our economy, our communities, and American lives into jeopardy.” Her unwavering support for mandates was evident, even when they infringed upon individual liberties.

Children, particularly those without serious, underlying health conditions, are not at risk of severe illness from COVID. Studies have shown that the virus poses virtually no risk to healthy children, and the vaccines do not prevent transmission. Yet, Murray continues to advocate for widespread vaccination among this demographic, while pretending there are no risks.

According to a Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations report, the Biden administration concealed information from the public about the risks of myocarditis from the mRNA vaccines, particularly among young boys. And despite knowing the data being reported and collected had significant gaps, the administration, Democrat lawmakers, and their media allies shamed and tried to cancel anyone even asking good-faith questions about the risks.

COVID vaccine is unnecessary for healthy kids

It’s 2025. Finally, we’re allowed to be honest about the COVID vaccine and the exceptionally flawed public health guidance with considerably less fear of being canceled for honesty.

Murray knows her constituents in Washington state are living in a post-facts world where their entire view of most issues is informed by their ideological bigotry and an echo chamber diet of left-wing media. Many of them still wear masks, while alone and outside.

They don’t actually have COVID, but they’ve convinced themselves they’re doing their part to stop the spread of the virus. It doesn’t don on them that they can’t spread a virus they don’t have. They’re equally clueless about the fact that you don’t catch COVID outside.

So what’s really behind Murray’s indescribably bad faith post on X? Money and power.

Murray takes a lot of funds from Big Pharma

Murray’s financial ties to the pharmaceutical industry raise reasonable questions about her motivations.

According to , she more than $3.4 million in Political Action Committee (PAC) contributions during the 2019-2024 election cycle, with a significant portion coming from the health sector. This financial backing from Big Pharma should have us second-guessing her policy positions when they would help financially benefit her donors, especially when , such as allowing the importation of cheaper medications from Canada.

So she puts healthy kids and pregnant women (which she’s willing to suddenly define) at unnecessary risks when it makes her donors wealthier?

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., despite some of his undoubtedly controversial views, pushes informed consent and individual choice in medical decisions. Not offering a needless recommendation doesn’t stop someone from making a choice to get a vaccine they almost assuredly do not need. It might mean it’s more expensive, but it dzܱbe more expensive if they don’t need it. I shouldn’t have to subsidize a choice not based in science or even the great societal good.

Murray’s criticism of RFK Jr. is less about public health and more about maintaining a narrative that aligns with her political and financial interests.

Rantz: Olympia teacher declares he ‘kills fascists,’ district defends it as free speech /ktth/rantz-opinion/olympia-teacher-fascists/4092548 Wed, 28 May 2025 12:00:50 +0000 /?p=4092548 An Olympia High School teacher posted an inflammatory message on his Instagram in which he declared, “This teacher kills fascists.” And he’s being defended by the Olympia School District.

Ryan Akiyama wrote on his Instagram last Wednesday that he would be flying a flag with the comment during the Leavenworth SkyRace over the weekend. He declared that he, “Might need to print it on a t-shirt next for all my fellow WOKE DEI educators still showing up with courage and care.”

“Yes, I’m woke. Yes, I teach DEI. No, I’m not sorry if that triggers the willfully ignorant,” he concluded.

Akiyama may, however, be sorry it triggered concern. After the post caught the attention of upset parents in the district, the teacher turned his account private over the weekend. As of Tuesday morning, the account had been taken completely offline.

Ryan Akiyama defended the comments

After some commenters challenged the post, and before the account as taken down, Akiyama defended his message.

The teacher said he was simply a “public educator taking a stand against fascism, in defense of American ideals as espoused in our Declaration of Independence and the Preamble to the Constitution.” To the people he says may be “feeling triggered,” Akiyama invited them “to a period of self reflection and honest reading.”

“Reading the wikipedia [sic] entries on vocabulary terms like ‘woke’ ‘equity’ ‘inclusion’ might help deprogram the propaganda you’ve fallen prey to. Public education is an inherently political act: not in service of any one creed (the direction the neo-fascists in the MAGA movement are driving) but in service of E PLURIBUS UNUM, All are created equal, and equal protection under the law. None of us teach so-called white guilt,” he wrote.

Olympia School District has the teacher’s back

In a statement to “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH, a district spokesperson defended Akiyama.

“The Olympia School District respects the constitutionally protected rights of its staff and students, including employees’ First Amendment right to free speech. As stated in District Policy 5254, the First Amendment protects employees’ right to express themselves freely, including on personal social media accounts,” the spokesperson explained.

The spokesperson said it tries to “balance the rights of employees with the district’s obligation to maintain an effective and respectful learning environment.” And if any student or parent have concerns, the spokesperson encourages them to speak to the school.

“As a general rule, the district does not regulate or monitor employees’ personal social media content. However, consistent with federal and state law, there are limited circumstances under which the district may intervene. Specifically, employee speech may be subject to regulation if it disrupts district operations or undermines the district’s ability to function effectively. These determinations are made on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with district policies and legal standards,” he said.

Ryan Akiyama has a history of questionable actions

Akiyama did not respond to multiple requests for comment from “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH. But he’s no stranger to controversy.

A former Yelm principal, Akiyama left his post after facing an arrest on suspicion of DUI and possessing a dangerous weapon (brass knuckles) in 2019. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving in Thurston County District Court, to . He was placed on probation and ordered to pay a fine, but did not serve jail time.

At the time, Akiyama was demoted from principal to teacher.

Silence from the Olympia School District

Clearly, Akiyama holds questionable judgment and his Instagram post suggests he’s unabashedly political in the classroom.

Akiyama openly fantasizing about “killing fascists” on social media, bragging about his woke credentials, and using inflammatory language that does nothing but divide students and staff, warrants his removal from the classroom. But instead of accountability, we get a defend from the Olympia School District. Where’s the outrage from leadership? Where are the consequences? If a teacher posted about “killing liberals,” they’d be put on administrative leave before the end of the day.

There’s nothing courageous about threatening violence or celebrating it—even in a childish “anti-fascist” package. When an educator holds up their personal politics as a badge of honor and takes shots at parents and community members as “willfully ignorant,” it sends a chilling message to students who Dz’t toe the woke party line.

Remove Ryan Akiyama from the classroom

This is what happens when school districts are taken over by radical activists who care more about pushing ideology than protecting students. If Olympia’s leaders won’t act, ’s up to parents to demand better—because the kids deserve so much more than this.

You’re either with Akiyama or you’re the enemy. And if he labels you a fascist, it’s fair to question if you’re safe around him.

Jason Rantz unpacks meaning of Memorial Day as study finds most young Americans don’t know it /jason-rantz/memorial-day-study/4091481 Mon, 26 May 2025 12:00:47 +0000 /?p=4091481 KTTH Radio host Jason Rantz and Jake Skorheim, co-host of “The Jake and Spike Show” on Xվ Newsradio, discussed the widespread misunderstanding of Memorial Day’s true meaning and encouraged listeners to approach the holiday with greater awareness and respect.

According to a survey, only 27% of young Americans know the real reason behind Memorial Day. They often confuse it with Veterans Day. Rantz said he’s not as upset with the mix-up as he originally thought he’d be, but warned not to say “Happy Memorial Day.”

“I think their intent is good, and I wonder how you explain (the correct way) to people?” Rantz asked. “Maybe say, ‘I get what you mean, but it’s not happy Memorial Day—and here’s why.'”

Jake suggested the correct way to approach it.

“It is a national holiday,” Jake said, “So I will always say, ‘I hope you enjoy your three-day weekend,’ and you’re not saying something like, ‘I hope you have an awesome Memorial Day.'”

What is Memorial Day to Jason Rantz?

According to the survey, only 27% of Gen Z could explain the purpose of Memorial Day. Millennials didn’t fare much better at 38%, while 56% of baby boomers were able to do so.

For Rantz, Memorial Day ’t just about mattress sales, barbecues, or three-day weekends—’s a solemn day of remembrance for the brave men and women who gave their lives defending this country. ’s about honoring sacrifice—not “celebrating” a day off.

But he notes that, if you Dz’t understand the true meaning of Memorial Day, ’s not because the meaning changed, but because our culture got lazy, distracted, and increasingly disconnected from patriotism.

Memorial day...
Rantz: Northwest Folklife is the festival manifestation of a Seattle homeless encampment /ktth/rantz-opinion/northwest-folklife/4091402 Fri, 23 May 2025 17:44:56 +0000 /?p=4091402 Northwest Folklife is Seattle’s annual tradition of hanging out stoned at the Seattle Center, while basically doing nothing for an entire weekend. It’s kind of like the festival manifestation of a homeless encampment.

If dz’v never been to , which takes place this Memorial Day weekend, congratulations. You’ve saved yourself from enduring a public space overrun with people who look like they were assembled from REI’s lost-and-found bin and renaissance fair costumes found at the local Goodwill.

Folklife is a unique (read: sad) combination of retired hippies and young stoners joining forces to celebrate…well, nothing in particular, except for their mutual love of patchouli and pretending hacky sack is a competitive sport.

That time I mistakenly visited Northwest Folklife at the Seattle Center

I strolled through once—by accident, I assure you—and it was like a time warp. There was a 63-year-old man named “Rainbow” showing a 19-year-old how to juggle, both of them giggling thanks to the questionable brownies that weren’t from the nearby Metropolitan Market.

The main feature of Northwest Folklife is the air. Seattle Center always has a certain “earthiness,” but during Folklife, ’s like literally stepping into a bong. The scent of dank weed is so overwhelming, it likely violates the Clean Air Act. Though, a glass half full view is that at least it’s not fentanyl.

So yes, Northwest Folklife is embarrassing, awkward, and a little bit sad. But at least ’s better than Bumbershoot. Low bar, but hey—Seattle loves its traditions. That said, I’m sure I’ll stop by with my Malinois-mix so he can see what will come of his life if he ditches his dog training courses for an aimless existence, though, honestly, he’ll probably end up experiencing his first contact high.

Rantz: After activists normalized antisemitism, 2 innocent Jews were murdered in D.C. /ktth/rantz-opinion/antisemitism-dc-jews-murdered/4090919 Fri, 23 May 2025 12:00:24 +0000 /?p=4090919 If dz’v spent any time watching or reading the news over the last year and a half, you should have noticed the trend: antisemitism ’t just back, ’s being mainstreamed—especially by the Radical Left, and, to some extent, the Radical Right. After last night’s , ’s time to stop pretending this is some isolated incident.

The rot starts in our cities, festering on our college campuses, is enabled—and, in some instances, cheered on—by Democratic politicians who’d rather blame Israel than call out the bigots in their own ranks.

What we’ve seen in Seattle, at the University of Washington, and across the country ’t “pro-Palestinian activism.” ’s open, vicious antisemitism—complete with blood libels, celebration of terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, and the intimidation and outright assault of Jewish students and staff.

The murder of Jews was inevitable

I warned this would happen. I’ve spent months watching radicals occupy our campuses, chanting for a “global intifada,” spewing hate from the comfort of their tent encampments and, in the case of UW, rallying around monsters who slaughter Jewish civilians for sport. And now, after over a year of normalizing this filth, the violence has escalated exactly as predicted.

But if you ask too many media outlets, or listen to Democratic Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal—Seattle’s favorite Hamas apologist—these are just “peaceful protests.” They’re passionate students who are merely criticizing Israeli policy and fighting to end a “genocide.” Spare me.

The Seattle Times will give you a downplaying Hamas’ terrorist attack against Israel so they can highlight the plight of Gazans while using statistics provided by Hamas. KING 5 runs glowing coverage of these rallies, amplifying businesses actively spreading Hamas propaganda, while , “For decades, Palestinians have suffered under the Israeli Government.” Apparently, Hamas bears no responsibility. A KOMO reporter will whitewash the language at rallies, calling Hamas terrorists “freedom fighters.”

Whitewashing antisemitism

Meanwhile, local media either skips or glosses over any mention that the “From the River to the Sea” chants explicitly call for the destruction of Israel and the extermination of Jews. They call antisemites “pro-Palestinian.” They feature fringe voices supporting Hamas, while mostly pushing Jews aside unless they’re and fall into the 1% that doesn’t believe in Israel’s right to exist.

Local media acts like these activists are the underdogs fighting “colonialism,” rather than privileged brats cosplaying as revolutionaries while peddling centuries-old hate.

While not all local media engage in this irresponsible journo-activism (Jeremy Harris at KOMO, for example, has been allowed to offer honest coverage, especially around the so-called “occupation” by antisemites at the UW), it represents the majority of the coverage as they try to give “both sides” equal space. The side calling for the death of Jews, while showing support for Hamas and endlessly demonizing Israel, is not worthy of anything more than scorn.

Let’s stop sugarcoating the hate

When you host “teach-ins” with “Free Gaza” banners but end up reading Hamas press releases out loud, you’re not interested in human rights—you’re legitimizing terror. When you let campus encampments run for days or weeks, you’re giving the green light for radicalization.

When Democratic politicians like Jayapal refuse to condemn this hate, or worse, dismisses the rape of Jewish women to justify attacks against Israel, ٳ’r not neutral. They’re complicit.

These activists, along with their enablers in academia and the halls of Congress, Dz’t want peace. They want to see Israel wiped off the map, and they make that clear every time they cheer for Hamas or accuse Jews of “genocide.” ’s sick.

Where’s the impassioned support for Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim

We’re told not to conflate anti-Zionism with antisemitism. But I see the same faces who say “Death to Israel” pushing blood libels about Jews starving Gazan children. I see “Free Palestine” rallies where Hezbollah flags are waved and posters call for “global intifada”—and then I watch as Jewish homes and businesses are vandalized, and two innocent young Jews, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, murdered in cold blood in D.C.

The line ’t blurred; ’s been erased.

Will Lischinsky and Milgrim earn impassioned support from the likes of Jayapal, or are they too busy fighting to defend antisemitic grad students?

Will the Radical Left embrace the suspect Elias Rodriguez or will they turn him into a martyr, or fetishize him like they did with Luigi Mangione?

More violence is inevitable if we don’t condemn the movement

So what happens next? We’re already seeing it.

Jewish students are fleeing campus, faculty are threatened, and violence—like we just witnessed in D.C.—will only get worse. When you normalize hate, when you elevate the voices of bigots and terrorists under the guise of “social justice,” you end up with blood on your hands. What did you think would happen next? The antisemitic activists, locally and nationally, have already escalated their tactics. They told us they would.

And make no mistake, the blame ’t just on the thugs who pull the trigger or smash the window. ’s on every politician who refuses to stand up, every media outlet that calls hate “activism,” and every university president ɳ’s too cowardly to enforce their own policies.

I’ve been warning about this for months, and now we’re all living with the consequences. If Seattle, the University of Washington, and the Democratic Party Dz’t wake up and root out this antisemitic cancer, the violence will continue—and next time, it might be closer to home.

Rantz: Seattle media gloss over convictions of green card holder they’re advocating for /ktth/rantz-opinion/seattle-media-green-card/4090412 Thu, 22 May 2025 12:08:05 +0000 /?p=4090412 Seattle media is so busy advocating for a green card holder being detained at Sea-Tac Airport by federal officials that they’re not telling us what his “older, non-violent convictions” are actually for. Perhaps because the answer could tell us why he caught the federal government’s attention.

Maximo Londonio was returning from a family vacation in the Philippines, where he’s from, when he was detained for administrative proceedings by Customs and Border Protection. This is not the first time he’s been held up at the airport, though it’s the longest. He’s been detained since May 15, and the family is, understandably, concerned and distraught. His wife, Crystal, is a U.S. citizen, and Maximo is a green card holder.

“He’s respectable,” Crystal said through tears at a press conference this week. “He’s hard-working. He’s family-oriented. And he’s loving. He’s not violent.”

Seattle media outlets have taken her word for it, advocating for his release with favorable coverage of the family’s cause. But there’s been a stunning lack of curiosity on a key detail that would likely explain why Maximo was detained: his criminal history.

Two convictions for green card holder

Maximo has two convictions, according to Tanggol Migrante Network WA, a community group advocating for his release. For some reason, Seattle media outlets haven’t been curious enough to tell us what the convictions were for. They simply dismiss them as decades-old and “non-violent,” as if that absolves Maximo of consequences or scrutiny.

viewers learn of Maximo’s “two non-violent convictions from over 20 years ago,” one minute and 48 seconds into a two-minute report, after they set him up as a victim of a cruel immigration system. There are other similar television examples.

Is no television reporter interested in what the “old, non-violent convictions” are for? Were these non-violent misdemeanors or non-violent felonies? Shouldn’t the convictions actually matter? Non-violent felonies, for example, can run the gamut of first-degree theft, money laundering, and possession of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

If reporters were interested in pursuing these details, they’d at least reveal that they inquired and didn’t get an answer. However, they gloss over the specifics because their interest in the case is not about presenting objective news but picking sides.

The crimes matter

reported “nonviolent convictions from more than two decades ago, when he was a young adult, that were resolved,” though it eventually got into some details deep into the article.

Maximo pleaded guilty to grand theft and was sentenced to seven months in Santa Clara County jail. It remains unclear what the second conviction is for. The Tanggol Migrante Network WA did not respond to a question from “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH, but there may be a hint in a statement from CBP.

“Lawful permanent residency for foreign citizens in the United States is a privilege. Under federal immigration law, lawful permanent residents convicted of offenses considered to be crimes involving moral turpitude, can legally lose their status and be removed. CIMTs include crimes such as grand theft and use and/or distribution of controlled substances,” a statement read.

Maximo was let down by the people propping him up

CBP is, of course, correct: lawful permanent residency is a privilege that is given to foreign citizens who respect our laws. I don’t know if the details of Maximo’s case warrant his continued protected status. I trust the system will decide. But Maximo was let down by the very people propping him up.

Two convictions, nonviolent or violent, should have led to consequences sooner than 2025. Donald Trump wasn’t president during the first convictions, and this is a president who takes a harder line approach on immigration, precisely because of inaction from others.

Don’t like the hardline approach? You should have said something when our border was virtually wide open under President Joe Biden, instead of pretending there was no crisis. Maximo might not have caught anyone’s attention if this country didn’t ignore the border as millions of unvetted foreign nationals came here illegally as the media joined Biden in turning a blind eye.

Rantz: Activists lazily advocate for local government that ‘looks like you’ /jason-rantz/diversity-in-government/4090095 Wed, 21 May 2025 12:04:17 +0000 /?p=4090095 A study by the Washington Community Alliance complains that local government officials are too male, white, and old. Ironically, if we used the study’s lazy logic, local government would still be too male, too white, and too old.

“Electoral Representation in Washington Statecaught the attention of the race and equity beat reporter at The Seattle Times. Citing the , the report notes that elected officials don’t reflect a Washington population that’s becoming more racially diverse and much younger. Though Washington residents of color make up over 35% of the population, they won around 10% of the elections.

“Kamau Chege, executive director at the Washington Community Alliance, said descriptive representation is vital to cultivating a democracy that has the trust of voters. The findings ’t surprising, he said, but they offer a clear roadmap for where community advocates can work to boost diversity in local and state government,The Seattle Times reported.

The underlying logic isn’t merely racist. It’s dangerous.

The study is based on a progressive blind spot

The report reads like a diversity DzԲܱٲԳ’s wish list—a multi-year deep dive into why not enough politicians look or sound like the ٲٱ’s latest Census snapshot. And as with most of these so-called equity studies, it completely misses the only question voters should care about: Are the people in charge actually doing the job well?

The report obsesses over numbers to complain about therepresentation gap, before effectively concluding that we must engineer government to mirror our ٲٱ’s shifting demographic spreadsheets. Never mind pesky details like merit, experience, or even whether anyone actually wants to run for city council in Pasco or serve on a water board in Omak.

The premise behind this entire report is that voters, left to their own devices, are failing. And, of course, society is failing racial minorities, women, and young people because of systemic –isms that we’ll pretend keep them from running.

Engineering democracy

Apparently, the fact that 91% of elected officials are white while the population is only 69% white is a sign that democracy is broken, not that maybe the candidate pool looks that way because ٳ󲹳’s who shows up, ɳ’s interested, or who ultimately wins support.

The suggestion is toinvestin underrepresented groups until the spreadsheets match Census data. It’s a racist plan that identifies as a true representative democracy.

If the onlyfairoutcome is a government that matches the racial, gender, and age makeup of its population, ɳ󲹳’s the next step? Should we set quotas for lawmakers? Should we post a sign-up sheet at the Capitol:White male lawmakers, dz’v hit your quota for this session—please step aside for a more diverse replacemen”? ’s absurd.

The left’s logic at work

If black, Latino, or Asian politicians are inherently better at representingtheircommunities, should white officials be the only ones allowed to represent the 69% of the state ٳ󲹳’s white? Should we stop a Latina from representing a primarily white community? Should we reject a black man who was elected by a community that is majority Latino?

Of course not. ճ󲹳’s segregationist thinking. ’s racist.

No one in their right mind wants to roll the clock back or push racial assignments for political representation—except, of course, progressive Democrats who view what they’re doing as somehow heroic and anti-racist.

Vote for the best candidate, not the one who looks like you

The implication that only people wholook like youcan represent you is deeply cynical.

By this reasoning, should women only vote for women? Should I only vote for a good-looking, witty, intelligent, and humble Jew because he would look like me? Where does this all end?

We Dz’t (or dzܱ’t) choose leaders because of skin color, gender, or age. We must pick the people who, after making their case, seem best equipped for the job. Then, we should judge them for what they’ve done for the entire community they represent, not what community they look like.

The left’s obsession with identity has few winners

The identity-obsessed left wants you to believe our institutions are illegitimate if ٳ’r not perfectly diverse by every possible metric. But the ultimate test of legitimacy ’t ɳ󲹳’s on a Ի徱岹ٱ’s birth certificate or what boxes they check on a demographic survey—’s whether voters trust them to lead, and how they respond with the trust we give them.

Representation ’t about skin color, gender, or any other immutable characteristic—’s about competence, values, and results. And I’ll happily take a lawmaker of any background who best represents my views and principles. What matters is what legislation they’re creating or passing.

Rantz: RFK Jr. eviscerates and steamrolls Sen. Patty Murray at committee hearing /ktth/rantz-opinion/rfk-jr-patty-murray/4090041 Tue, 20 May 2025 20:02:04 +0000 /?p=4090041 Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Sen. Patty Murray in what’s becoming an ongoing theme for the veteran Washington senator.

“You’ve presided here, I think, for 32 years. You presided over the destruction of the health of the American people,” Kennedy told Murray during a Tuesday subcommittee hearing. “Our people are now the sickest people in the world because you have not done your job.”

Murray’s best response? “Seriously?”

“What have you done about it? What have you done about the epidemic of chronic disease?” Kennedy shot back before Murray asked the chairperson to intervene and stop the public humiliation.

Visibly rattled by yet another tense moment she’s endured, courtesy of Trump administration officials who won’t let her steamroll them, Murray continued with claims that Kennedy is making irresponsible cuts to HHS. Kennedy dismissed her point, saying he didn’t “trust” she was being honest.

Patty Murray keeps getting humiliated at hearings

Murray was recently called out by FBI Director Kash Patel during a separate contentious hearing where the senator attempted to earn a soundbite.

“You have placed on leave FBI employees responsible for the investigation of Jan. 6. That sounds political to me,” she claimed—because holding agents accountable for ethical violations is now “political,” as long as ٳ’r Democrats’ ideological allies.

Patel wasn’t having it.

“I have not placed anyone on leave who has not violated their ethical obligation or their oath,” he fired back. “I think the common theme here is you putting words in my mouth, and I’m not going to tolerate it, nor will the men and women of the FBI.”

“If you want to talk about someone who was attacked by a weaponized Bureau, you’re looking at him,” Patel reminded her. “And now he’s the director of the FBI, and he’s cleaning it up.”

Patel previously confirmed that he was subject to a subpoena and forced to testify to a federal grand jury in former special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into Trump.

Rantz: Far-left Evergreen College professor posts ’86 47′ ‘threat’ against Trump on Facebook /ktth/rantz-opinion/evergreen-professor/4089562 Tue, 20 May 2025 12:01:54 +0000 /?p=4089562 Days after former FBI Director James Comey faced criticism, and an apparent investigation, for posting what’s been labeled by many as a violent threat against President Donald Trump, an Evergreen State Professor is doing the same.

Far-left Geography & Native Studies professor Zoltán Grossman posted two notes on his personal Facebook depicting “86 47,” in Roman numerals. In one, with the background of red hearts, Grossman posted, “LXXXVI XLVII.”A second post, a day later, shows the image of “LXXXVI XLVII” on a red hat.

The first post, on May 17, came a day after Comey faced condemnation for posting, then deleting, an image of seashells depicting “86 47.” The term “to 86” means to remove, get rid of, or kill, and “47” is a reference to Trump, the nation’s 47th president. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called it a “threat,” and vowed her department “will respond appropriately.”

After blowback, Comey deleted the post and claimed he did not know it was a call for violence, but did acknowledge he believed it to be political.

A disgusting joke about harming Trump

Neither Grossman nor a spokesperson for Evergreen State College responded to a request for comment. Unlike Comey, Grossman didn’t bother with the faux apology. He’s not even saying he’s mocking people who call “86 47” a threat.

If you’re wondering, yes, this is the kind of edgy “resistance” humor you get from a taxpayer-funded professor at Evergreen, a college famous for lowering the bar so much ’s basically a tripping hazard.

Making a joke about “86ing” the president, especially after two real, failed assassination attempts, is disgusting. Grossman’s defenders will call it “just a joke.” And it was a joke; Grossman is the kind of tough-talking activist professor who has aged out of any resistance activism that could resemble cardio.

But when a Republican so much as tweets a mean meme about Biden, ’s national news, and suddenly we’re having another lecture about the dangers of political violence. When the target is Trump? Suddenly, we’re all supposed to loosen up and laugh along.

How is this acceptable at Evergreen State College? Well, it’s Evergreen State College

If a student or staff member at Evergreen posted a joke about a faculty member like “86 63” (the latter numbers representing the average IQ of a professor on campus), the college would freak out, and you’d see immediate calls for discipline, safe spaces, and another symposium on campus safety.

But since the target is the “wrong” president, Grossman gets to keep his self-satisfied grin. This is not, after all, a professor who takes his job seriously. He’s not an educator; he’s a , as evidenced by his curriculum. He’s “Decolonizing Place Names” and “Reclaiming the Commons: Black, White, and Indigenous Peoples Reconstructing Community.” These are the types of classes students take, then, upon graduation, immediately complain that they can’t find jobs.

Evergreen and the academic left want you to believe they stand against violence and hate, but the mask slips pretty quickly when ’s their political enemies in the crosshairs.

Rantz: After legal threat and report, Washington Democrat unblocks constituents, journalists /ktth/rantz-opinion/shaun-scott-blocking-x-legal/4086730 Mon, 19 May 2025 12:04:43 +0000 /?p=4086730 After both an embarrassing report and a legal threat, Socialist State Rep. Shaun Scott appears to have unblocked constituents, activists, and journalists he unconstitutionally restricted from an X account he uses for legislative purposes.

Following a report by “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH spotlighting Scott’s decision to preemptively block people he thought would be critics, the lawmaker reportedly received a cease-and-desist order from a Washington voter. That voter said he demanded Scott unblock his account, and the accounts of others, that he believes were unlawfully blocked.

“I am writing as a concerned citizen who has been unjustly blocked from your official X account, @Scott43LD, despite having no prior interactions with you. This letter serves as a formal demand to immediately cease your pattern of unconstitutional blocking of myself and other users on X, which constitutes prior restraint and viewpoint discrimination in direct violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution,” the Washington voter explained, according to a copy of the letter he provided “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH.

The chief clerk for the Washington House of Representatives told the “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH that he would also reach out to Scott’s office to discuss the “nuances” of the rules around social media. The House does not take ownership or responsibility for this particular Scott account.

Shaun Scott uses his X account for government purposes

The voter explained that Scott’s X account represents a public forum, based on how the lawmaker uses and presents the account.

By blocking me—a citizen who has never interacted with you—you have engaged in prior restraint, preemptively silencing my ability to engage with an elected representative in a modern public square. This action is indefensible and unconstitutional,” he added.

The voter asked for anonymity to avoid harassment from progressive activists.

“As a state representative, you are a public servant, not a private citizen free to silence dissent at your discretion. Your role is to represent the people—including those who disagree with you—not to censor them. Washington state prides itself on transparency and accountability, as evidenced by the Public Records Act (RCW 42.56), and your actions run counter to these principles. By blocking me and others, you are not only violating our constitutional rights but also undermining the democratic process by stifling public discourse on a platform you use to communicate with constituents. This is a shameful betrayal of the trust placed in you by the voters of the 43rd Legislative District,” he noted.

Unblocked

The voter said he would sue Scott if the lawmaker didn’t immediately unblock him and others.

, two public school board members blocked parents from their personal social media accounts after receiving frequent critical comments. The key issue was whether public officials violate the First Amendment when they block constituents from platforms used for official communication. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that officials can be held liable if they were clearly acting in their official capacity when using those accounts. Scott was using his account in his official capacity as a state lawmaker. He has separate personal and campaign accounts.

By the weekend, it appears Scott started to unblock users on the account he uses for legislative matters.

On Sunday, “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH noticed that Scott unblocked the @JasonRantz account, which never interacted with Scott’s legislative X account prior to being blocked. Scott apparently preemptively blocked people he thought would be critical or ask tough questions concerning his legislative agenda or, more recently, support for antisemitic University of Washington students accused of illegally occupying a campus building and committing over $1 million in damages.

It’s unclear how many other users Scott unblocked.

Shaun Scott is a petty man

Shaun Scott didn’t unblock people because he suddenly discovered a commitment to the First Amendment. He did it because he got caught, and he didn’t want to get sued. It was about shielding himself from criticism he can’t handle.

Scott used his platform to amplify radical causes he was engaged in as a lawmaker, then silenced anyone who might challenge him. ճ󲹳’s not leadership, of course. ’s cowardice.

But it’s also petty: a lawmaker who can’t take criticism has no business representing communities. It’s the position of a narcissist; if the voter doesn’t support Scott, he doesn’t care what they think because he believes himself to be smarter than everyone else. This from a man who, as a candidate, was even ridiculed from the left for putting out a campaign video complaining that he wasn’t allowed to run unopposed.

Blocking critics before they ever interacted with him shows a paranoia unbecoming of someone who claims to represent all his constituents. And let’s not forget: Scott still hasn’t explained himself. He just quietly reversed course, hoping no one would notice.

We noticed. The courts would have, too.
