Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell has announced that the city will be working on recruiting more officers by offering a $30,000 transfer bonus, or a $7,500 signing bonus for new cops.

But the city desperately needs the new cops, Bryan Suits said on his show, and they need them now.

“Talk about reaching for a lifesaver as the city of Seattle is drowning,” Suits said.

Seattle Mayor Harrell commits to hiring 500 SPD officers by 2027

With more than 400 cops quitting SPD since 2019, the city needs more police, Suits says, but more keep quitting because of the “woke ACAB activists” making policing too hard in Seattle.

“The appointments are now six months behind schedule. So I mean, do the math. If there are 100 plus cops on their way out, they retire faster than they can be trained.”

Rantz: Mayor Harrell’s police staffing ‘plan’ is embarrassing, impossible, and not really a plan

Suits finished up by pointing out that you get the police force you pay for, and if the city wants to keep driving cops out of the city, then there are jobs for cops in other cities.
