Are you a victim of Obamacare?

If so, David Boze wants you to share your story with State Sen. Steve O’Ban, R-University Place.

There is a hearing in Olympia on Tuesday regarding O’Ban’s senate bill 6464, which would allow citizens to, essentially, keep their old health care plans if they like them – not a lie this time – and allow Washington residents to buy health coverage across state lines.

O’Ban is asking for the stories of state residents who lost their health insurance due to Obamacare to bolster the case for his bill.

“[SB 6464] expands health insurance coverage options for Washington citizens by [allowing] health carriers to continue to offer certain individual or small group health plans in the market that do not meet the requirements of the federal affordable care act; and [allowing] out-of-state carriers to offer insurance products in Washington,” reads the bill digest.

Please email O’Ban at about your story – or go to the hearing, which will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Senate Health Care Committee meeting.

“Our state leaped headfirst into Obamacare before considering the potential for negative side effects. I have heard from many in and outside my district who were driven off the health care plans they liked and Obamacare eliminated nearly all the low-cost plans many could afford,” O’Ban said of the bill. “It is a terrible tragedy. Families have lost vital healthcare coverage and can’t afford to replace it. Even the president has realized the mistakes of his plan and has offered the American people a way out. Unfortunately, the plans he said we can keep don’t exist in Washington anymore. Therefore, we need to let people buy them in other states to restore equity to our health-care system.”
