Starting Thursday, World Cup officials will tour several cities across the United States, including Seattle, to determine which will host games for the 2026 tournament.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup was a joint bid by three North American countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. It will be the first to be hosted by three nations.

The United States will have 11 venues in different cities selected for the tournament and is offering 17 cities as possible choices. There will be three venues in Canada and two in Mexico.

Seattle is one of the U.S. cities vying to be a host, offering Lumen Field. The other two West Coast options are Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco and the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles.

The tour will last until Nov. 1. It’s not known when officials will select the host cities.

The United States last hosted the World Cup in 1994.
