One dead, one hospitalized after motorcycle strikes pedestrian in Interbay

A fatal collision in Interbay involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian left one man dead and one woman hospitalized, the confirmed.
A 32-year-old male motorcyclist allegedly struck and injured a female pedestrian shortly after 11:20 p.m. Tuesday near 15th Ave W. and W. Newton Street.
Fatal motorcycle collision in Interbay
When SPD arrived, they discovered the male motorcyclist was critically injured in the middle of the roadway, and a female pedestrian had also sustained serious injuries after being struck by the motorcycle.
The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) medics arrived on the scene and performed life-saving procedures on the injured motorcyclist; however, he was pronounced dead on the scene.
SPD noted that the woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition following the crash.

SPD officers secured the crash site, and detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad responded to conduct a full investigation.
Witnesses of the crash reported that the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed, moving northbound on 15th Ave W. before the collision.
The woman was crossing the street westbound after exiting a transit bus when she was struck by the motorcyclist, according to witness reports.
