The 12th Man is paying for a brick at the 49ers’ soon-to-be-built Levi Stadium.
And at Sunday’s game against the 49ers, two Seahawks fans – Travis Platt and Cedric Morris – raised $1,300 to hire a banner plane to fly over Candlestick Park.
But 49ers fans are hitting back.
One fan is using a to raise money to buy a billboard next to CenturyLink Field.
The billboard would feature San Francisco’s five Super Bowl trophies and the question: “How many do you have?”
Seahawk fans aren’t impressed. One told , “I think having to rent a billboard to try to intimidate a team is a little pathetic. But you can’t fault them for trying – it’s just not going to work.”
As of Monday morning, the campaign had raised $4,280, and the goal on the gofundme.com site is $7,000. It’s unknown yet if the Seahawks loss Sunday will help or hurt the campaign for a billboard.
